THE BIG CYPRESS COLLECTION Ex Fairmont Collection, as noted on the insert. With a mintage of 207,121, the 1837 is one of the lower mintage issues from the Philadelphia mint in this short lived series. Three die pairs were used, and the HM-2, as here, is the most common of the date, listed in Daryl Haynor's study as a Rarity-3+. This is a handsome example of this type, with a sparkling luster aglow below a handsome honey-gold and apricot infused patina on the surfaces. Only a trace of friction can be found anywhere and there are no serious marks or ticks of any kind to be found. The eye appeal is very attractive! PCGS 28, NGC 86, CAC 16. This is the most recent example to sell, realizing $7,200 in the August 2022 sale of the Fairmont-JBR Set, a level well above the published levels. These Fairmont Collection coins are in very high demand from collectors and this is a rare second chance for you to win this lovely CHOICE AU 1837 $5! Good luck. Cert. Number 45172424 PCGS # 8175
