FROM THE M & S PETTY COLLECTION Ex Richmond Collection, as noted on the holder. A lustrous example of this conditionally challenging date. Bordering on the CHOICE grade level, this coin has a decent strike for the issue, with only some light weakness on the obverse stars and eagle. An iridescent clear gold patina is gently dusted on the surfaces with some dappled deeper gold and some blue peripheral tone on the reverse. A strong glass reveals some tiny marks and ticks that account for the assigned grade, but the overall eye appeal is pleasing. Ex David Lawrence's sale of the Richmond Collection, Part II, November 2004, lot 1479. PCGS 6, NGC 5. The last MS62 to sell was the PCGS/CAC coin from the Issaquah Estate we sold in May 2019 for $14,688; the last NGC-graded coin was the Queller coin sold in April 2008. The current Collectors Universe value is listed at $12,500. RARE any finer with just six graded higher at NGC, an MS64 being the finest. Cert. Number 1716031 PCGS # 6944
