Despite a huge mintage of over 11.5 million, the 87-O is a conditionally RARE date. Rare in MS65 and VERY RARE any finer, this date is UNKNOWN in superb grade. This "+" graded GEM has a great look. Shimmering, satiny mint frost dances across the surfaces, enlivening a blush of rose-gold and tangerine-peach dusted on the obverse. The strike is generally bold for the date and the eye appeal is quite charming. We are not really sure why CAC chose not to bean this lovely coin. PCGS 55, NGC 5. The current PCGS Price Guide value is listed at $7,000 and we think this lovely coin will delight any collector needing a high grade example for a Registry Set, but does not want to spend $20,000 or more for an MS66. This will also fit into a set of toned dollars by date and mintmark, and this date is not one that comes with toning that often. We expect strong bidding. Good luck. Cert. Number 46282579 PCGS # 7176
