- 1802 Draped Bust Cent. S-232. Rarity-1. AU-50 (PCGS). Plenty of good gloss remains on both sides of this handsome piece, the surfaces with blushes of olive-copper patina to a base of autumn-brown. Boldly to sharply defined in most areas, wispy handling marks on the obverse hardly detract, while an area of minor roughness on the reverse at the letters CA in AMERICA is mentioned for accuracy. Given the EAC Condition Census for this variety comprised largely of Mint State and Choice AU coins listed in the 2015 edition of William C. Noyes large cent reference, this minimally circulated survivor is worthy of serious consideration among advanced early copper enthusiasts. PCGS# 1470. NGC ID: 224E.
